The French have a charming way to describe what us English speakers call Budburst. They refer to this exciting and colourful time as ‘Bourgeon coton’ Buds with cotton. Our vineyards are coming to life after their winter dormancy. Thankfully all our hard work pruning is beginning to pay off and the vines are looking healthy and well balanced. It is a beautiful time in the languedoc as all the Almond, cherry and other fruit trees are in full blossom. The excitement of Spring in the countryside!
We had a very sucessful trip recently to the UK. We had tastings and dinners in Norwich, Cambridge, Reigate and Cirencester. Our wines are now available at the following places:
– Premium Wine Collections http://www.premiumwinecollections.com/
– Roger Hickmans restaurant – Norwich http://www.rogerhickmansrestaurant.com/
– Morston Hall hotel and restaurant http://www.morstonhall.com/
– The Vineking http://www.thevineking.com/
We are also pleased to announce the launch of our new cuvee. This year we are bottling a blend of Grenache and Mourvedre called ‘Misterioso’. We are really happy how this wine has developed and we believe it will be a great little wine designed for everyday consumption. The wine has a deep rich ripe cherry appearance. The aromas are of baked dark cherries, leather and spice. The palate is again dominated by cherries but there is some attractive strawberry characters combined with fine tannins. The wine has a lingering aftertaste and can be drunk with chicken or a good old pot roast.
We will be launching this wine with our 2010 Rosé at upcoming events in Ireland over Easter. The 2009 AOC wines will also be on taste. Our first event will be at Gracys Bar, Westport House, in County Mayo on the 21st of April, at 7.30pm Our good friend Alannah Brown ( email@example.com ) will be hosting a wine tasting to coincide with the summer opening of Gracys Bar. She will be happy to take your reservation. http://www.westporthouse.ie/home/gracys-bar/
This will be followed by a second tasting on Good friday, the 22nd of April, at Ballyduff house in Kilkenny. http://www.ballyduffhouse.com 22nd April. Please contact either Brede Thomas (
) or firstname.lastname@example.org for questions or reservations.
We are looking forward to another great year in the vineyards and with this burst of hot weather we will be into another spraying season before we know it. Anyway Cheers and we hope you are enjoying our wines.
